Not a customer, but your offers are always laid out nicely and are something different to the cookie-cutter offers we get most of the time. Congrats.

What was the IO at? We have a few older nodes still online that older clients may still be on (we don't provision to them). Those are still being worked on for migrating to newer gear as we can, but our newer nodes have all been solid on IO. 250+ seems to be the average on our boxes.

Out of curiosity, will you guys ever expand outside of Florida? It'd be really cool if you started opening nodes in LA and Dallas.

Likely yes. Timeline is undetermined at this point. We're getting our router online this week and will be adding in our own bandwidth contract ( so we're not entirely reliant on our upstream ) and then in a few months will be eyeballing secondary location buildouts. We're not going to simply throw one server in a location, we'd be doing it proper with our own BGP session, switches, so forth.

  • Didn't you say something a while back about maybe offering dedis at some point? Any idea when that might be? GJ with the KVM btw, might get one.

That was a pretty big maybe. No plans at the present moment.

  • Can I video encode on the KVM?

  • im crissic customer since a few months ago... this is my server benchmark

We're not making it widely available YET (Plan to next month). You can drop us a ticket and we'll give you access to the windows ISO's. Just note we do not provide licenses.

  • Word of caution to anyone. Crissic uptime has gotten quite spotty lately. Lots of intermittent downtime over the past couple weeks. Not sure what's going on, but QoS has definitely degraded. OTOH, can't beat $15/yr.

Issues last 2 days or so have been router related. We're working on fixing this. Long story short we've outgrown our switch that is currently running our BGP tables, and have put a router in place. After we migrated routing over to the proper router, we encountered some bugs and performance issues resulting in packet loss and very high pings. This morning we reverted to the switch for the time being, until we can get the router bugs handled and fully operational.

Once we have this router in place we will also be turning up our own 10Gbit line with Atrato, giving us redundancy that we otherwise have not had in the past. Our upstream was hit with a very large DDoS that took their core distribution routers offline for a period of time a week or two ago. Our upstream has since resolved the bug which the DDOS attack exposed, but we still feel adding our own upstream into the mix will give us overall better stability in the event of this happening again in the future.

TL;DR: We're implementing fixes, ran into a few snags. Once the upgrade is stable and completed we do not expect further network stability issues. We've just outgrown our existing networking gear.

Not trying to slam you. Downtime has been very brief, and intermittent. Support has always been snappy. It's just one of those things I keep an eye out for. Often indicates rough times ahead for a host.

But if it's upgrades, etc then I welcome the bursts of downtime.

Oh understandable! I just wanted to clarify what/why stuff is happening rather than pretending everything is fine. Something that was supposed to be a brief network blip turned out to be not just a second of downtime. We'll be doing extensive testing properly now prior to re-routing back to the router just to make sure no more issues occur :)
