If you bring your own licence, sure

    I know nodedeploy allows windows

  • BuyVM has Windows 2003(included) VPS, with 256MB RAM, 30G HD and 1TB BW, for $5.

    Thanked by 1rahulks
  • BuyVM is also including Windows Server 2008 R2 licenses with all KVM soon.

I'd say Vegas, since it's right next to California it should get pretty good latency to Asia/India.

  • You would probably be marked as fraud (or account deleted) due to country reason. But I believe Fran would release your payment through ticket.

  • With 256MB ram windows 2008 shouldnt run?

No, what I mean is Indians, Chinese and some East Europe countries' are typically "disliked" by maxmind. So innocent people from these countries are more often required to explain in ticket. You are obviously not a fraud, so you don't need to worry too much about that, if marked as fraud, open a ticket and explain.

I've never faced an issue with any of my orders. I'm from India too, and have Servermania, UGVPS, Backupsy, Raidlogic and half a dozen other VPSes. Never had Maxmind sulking.

Man, that sounded pretty bad when I misread maxmind as mankind.

I just ran a trace out of the same Vegas datacenter BuyVM is located in and the first trace went straight to India via Los Angeles and the second went to India via NYC.

You can license the node. 2012's a more annoying licensing deal so I've been trying to figure that all out. We've only had a couple people ask for 2012 and they always bring their own licenses anyways.

Hmm, So I guess in reality it doesn't matter. I'd probably go with Vegas, but hey thats just me.

Yeah memory is low but it runs for me at a very good speed from buyVm @ 5$, and Remote Desktop is very quick

I could not see prices. Is it with no price or my google chrome has problem?
    :)

About the thread: it is good to see it is possible to use Windows VPS for $5.
I could not see the option of 1Gb ram (KVM) for $5

    This one I guess: http://aws.amazon.com/free/ or http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/pricing/
    750 hours/month
    30GB space
    15GB bandwidth

Try not to exceed the free usage or you will get a very nice priced bill.

  • Go with BuyVM :).

    You can license the node.

Are you using 2008 Datacenter SPLA licensing?
