New LiveChat Option, Live Support Rhino

Hi Guys,

Bit of a plug for a friend, he has developed a new Live Chat platform called Live Support Rhino. Take a look, see what you think.

Website: http://www.livesupportrhino.com/ Demo: http://www.livesupportrhino.com/demo

Load up the operator panel in 1 window, and the customer panel in another and give it a try.

Personally I don't use it, as I don't have a need. However he has done some good work so far, it's certainly usable with some good features, and more to add over time.

Great Look, Should I use like livezilla I mean I can install free ?

Affordable VPS provider with Excellent Help-desk Support with 24/7 Live-chat

  • Looks like its only $49 for the non-hosted version. http://www.livesupportrhino.com/faq/a/2/how-can-i-get-rhino

  • @breton You are Referring to the hosted version. The script code $18 http://codecanyon.net/item/live-support-rhino/814003

    @Breezehost Its not free software.

    I know, I'm Dale Maily.

  • @breton said: 108 usd for that? Lol.

$18 self hosted, come back when you have something constructive to add.

  • I wonder what the pricing at http://www.livesupportrhino.com/faq/a/2/how-can-i-get-rhino is for then. Maybe the FAQ isn't updated yet.

  • @Joel said: come back when you have something constructive to add.

my constructive feedback is, don't put the hosted version for the first time, and put THAT $18 self hosted price at front side by side with the other. i have the same situation with breton. opened => watching the price show me $108 => closing browser tab.

Yes! I'm with Carstensz Pyramid Server Now stop asking me please :D

Which is a hell of a lot more useful than "mr lols" above ;) I've shot this thread to him via email, so anything you add here he can take on board. For the record, developer's name is Jerome, so i'll poke him to come in and personally respond.

  • @Joel great.. honestly, at the first time you really disappointed me (with that $108 :P ) i'm looking for another live chat script since my current live chat support really buggy in whmcs v4.5.2 and above. now i'll wait your friend.

  • Thanks Joel. We are also looking for alternatives :)

  • Cool! Since he'll be here to read: Are there any plans to add IM integration, specifically gtalk?

Simplistic, looks interesting but I've seen many other similar scripts. Obviously not the same design etc.

    我是一个巨魔 (;

  • Thank you very much for all the feedback! Check regularly for updates...

  • I bought that script and it was useless, so I started from scratch building my own (Rhino), same look (different images) but all new written in PHP5, MySQL5 and jQuery.

Rhino Pro 1.2 has been released, the best release so far and probably the best live support software on the web.

    What customer say:

Very easy to use and to install (took me literally 5 minutes to set up and config), 5 extra minutes to translate the script to French, 10min to set up icons.

Thanks for the amazing update! I’ll update my install now.

After 5 days of intensive testing I would like to give a short feedback: Awesome Work! Great Script! Works Perfectly! 5 Stars!

  • Hm well seems like a blast from the past (or something new for me). I'd like to ask, did you incorporate the other chat supports? (such as gChat)?

    Thanks! I didn't noticed that.

sorry for that, it should work now...

Couldn't get the demo to work. Anyone using this?

  • JeromeJerome Member

    What was the problem?

  • DamianDamian Member

I logged in as operator on the Pro demo. And then waited for the user icon to change to online. It never did. So I tried clicking the button, and it wanted me to leave a message.

Do I need to do something further once I log in to the operator side?

I am no longer affiliated with IPXcore.
  • JeromeJerome Member

You need to make yourself available in the operator panel first and then open the chat window with a second browser. If you don't have two browser installed you can still use one but to test it extensively it is best to use two.

  • DamianDamian Member

Thanks, that wasn't immediately obvious. :)

Can that be turned off, or otherwise set to always be available when I log in?

I am no longer affiliated with IPXcore.
  • JeromeJerome Member

Yes, when you logged in and you have made yourself available it will stay available as long you are logged in and the window (iPhone/Android/fluid) is open. The system will set you offline if you close the window or shut down the computer, otherwise your customer would still try to chat with you.

When all operators are offline, then the contact form will be displayed.

  • DamianDamian Member

Thanks for the input. We're going to drop Zopim and try this out.

I don't think that question got answered.

If there's support for gChat I'd drop zopim and try this out too.

Yeah, I was kinda disappointed that question got ignored, especially since we use gchat for mobile responses. But as much as Zopim sucks, i'm willing to try this out.

This is the best support software IMO, have been using it for years.

  • @Damian said: since we use gchat for mobile responses.

Yeah that's what I planned to do with it. The main reason I'm using Zopim is because of that too (hell I'd set up a server just to run as the gChat bot that talks to me only if I knew how).

  • It is very very laggy. Takes about 5-10 seconds for a message to appear, and it seems to be using actual page refreshes or something.

No slower than Zopim from my usage....

  • @Damian is it live right now on IPXCore's website? I'd be willing to test it from a clients perspective right now

No, we're still on Zopim on the site. I'm not quite sure how we're going to integrate LSR yet, since Zopim is a popup thingy in the corner, while LSR is an image button you click on.

  • Ah ok. Let us know how it is. If they do come out with gChat integration or anything else really I'd definitely consider using this (prefer to have in-house/self-hosted stuff)

How about a lil' CSS to glue it to the bottom of the viewport? Throw in some basic javascript, to make it closable, therefore moderately unobtrusive and you should be good to go.

Have a look at Twitter Bootstrap's alert.js if you want something quick and nasty... and easy to implement.

  • I think Live Help Messenger covered my business better. :)

    Hi all,

I gona answer some questions here:

It is very very laggy. Takes about 5-10 seconds for a message to appear, and it seems to be using actual page refreshes or something.

You can choose how often the chat will refresh, but I never had laggy as a feedback.

It is very simple to integrate on your website, button code is provided in the operator panel and you can of course upload your own button.

Rhino will be hosted on your server.

  • @Jerome: Could you please answer if you're going to integrate gChat or any other alternative chat systems into Rhino? You still haven't answered it.

    Catalyst Host - Pie Approved!
  • @HalfEatenPie said: wat. Really?

I'm not entirely sure. It seemed to reload some of the assets (such as the 'support representative' avatar) every few seconds.

@Jerome said: You can choose how often the chat will refresh, but I never had laggy as a feedback.

If I have the support rep panel and the customer chat panel next to each other, it takes at least 5 seconds for a message to appear on the other side.

Rhino is already a chat system, why should I integrate another one? As I wrote above you can change how often the chat will pull new messages from the server (set to 5 seconds at the moment in the demo).

    I don't think you're understanding us correctly.

@Jerome: For example lets say its a two man show. They'd like to have the ability to offer live chat support but sometimes are out of office. What they do have though is a smart phone capable of accessing gChat from anywhere. Zopim allows the chat support questions to be redirected to gChat (have you used Zopim or similar products before?) for convenience and mobility. Can your software do that is what I'm asking.

    Catalyst Host - Pie Approved!
  • JeromeJerome Member

iPhone app is in development as well a windows client, for mac I use fluid. Rhino Pro already has a mobile client, so yes I think I go further then Zopim.

  • @Jerome: well I tried to use the mobile version but your demo isn't working right now (atleast for me). I'll check later on a different network. I'm interested on the efficiency of this on iOS.

Is the iOS only thing you're going to support? Are you not going to provide the functionality to Android too?

@Damian you know... if you want to share that I wouldn't mind ;)
